It’s All About Balance

The hypothalamus in the brain and it’s affect on hormone development and involvement is a very complex biochemical process. It requires a delicate balance of exact dosages at precise timings to be distributed to many designated areas throughout  the body . It is critical that our brains manufacture and maintain balanced amounts of hormones such as testosterone and estrogen to ensure an optimal healthy biochemical environment for all neurological activities. Any amount of hormonal imbalance can create an underlying condition for mental disease such as brain fog and confusion, irritability, heightened anxiety, panic attack, poor sleep, anger, sadness and depression.

We also know that hormones play an important role in protective and adaptive measures within our brains and throughout our bodies. Like in a ” fight, flight or freeze” situation . Our brains will supply a necessary balanced mixture of powerful hormones the instant we detect trouble.

But it is stress that can wreak havoc on the production and distribution of hormones. Too much cortisol can alter brain function and impair learning . Studies also show a relationship in levels of oxytocin in autistic children and sociability.

Brain chemistry can affect our behavior and behavior can affect our brain chemistry. Which means that we are not just a victim of our own neurobiology . But we can retrain our brains to relearn from it’s old ways and stimulate new and improved functioning. Help it to find new neurochemical coping mechanisms through experience and alternative treatment plans.

Our brains have neurological pathways that have developed throughout a lifetime . They become worn like a path in a road or a trail in a forest . When a stressful situation arises our brains memory will automatically take these same paths that have always been used with the same results. Whether it’s a panic attack, brain fog or a headache. It’s been conditioned to be stuck in a neuroelectro / chemical replay.

Neurofeedback has been shown to assist the brain in taking a new neuronal route that supports greater function. These new pathways will become more robust and developed over time. Newly established brainwave states can influence stress hormone production. Adding neurofeedback to an overall approach to hormone treatment can oftentimes make a big difference.

A first NeuroBalance treatment is like the first day of school for your brain again. We collect , store , and record a patients EEG to identify the residue of the past .

Then we come up with a personalized treatment plan to assist the brain to establish a new and improved balanced state of function . No matter what neural pathways are challenged. Our process gives the brain what it desires most … balance .

A balanced brain is a better brain !
