Neurofeedback in a Covid-19 world

There is no doubt we are living in very troubling times. For the past five months we have seen our way of life quickly change into something that no one ever could have imagined. The routine and flow of work and home life we had been striving to attain for so many years came to a screeching halt. Along with it, our sense of purpose, desires and personal goals. We now find ourselves unable to contribute and provide for ourselves and others, using the talents and knowledge we were blessed with.

Sadly, reports of depression, anxiety , feelings of hopelessness and suicide are drastically on the rise. There is a growing need for neurofeedback now more than ever. Yet, many are not even aware it exists.

Here are a few tips that can help with anxiety and depression during lockdowns:

Remaining positive, creative and staying connected to others is more important now than ever.

But how does one do that?

First of all. With all the negative news going on in the world. I would suggest to turn off the TV and social media for a bit. Or at least cut it way back. Those negative charged ”latest information” is designed to get under your skin and get a reaction. This seemingly endless loop wreaks havoc on our emotional health.

Secondly, I would get organized at home. Start new projects and finish old ones. Clean out the garage.

Surround yourself with family and positive people. Keep in touch. Make a phone call or text. Cook and create recipes. Sing or dance around the house. Learn a new language. Take up hobbies. Play music.

Start to exercise more. Get outside and walk, bike or run. Physical movement has been shown in numerous studies to have a positive effect on mood and our bodies ability to heal. Just take 20 minutes to begin with!

Meditate, pray, breath- work and expand your spiritual side. Working on your ability to remain in the present will pay you back greatly in terms of reduction of stress.

Lastly, I would strongly recommend trying some LENS neurofeedback. It will really help tune you up and keep you from crashing into the anxious/ depressed state that can creep up on you. It will keep you more focused and able to handle what’s in front of you. Keeping you out of a rut !

We are continuing to help so many of you out there navigating yourselves back to your most balanced and happy state. Thank you all. We are here to help!

Remember, better brainwaves = better behaviors.

Please stay safe and use common sense by following the basic Covid-19 guidelines.
