Photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy) at NeuroBalance

NeuroBalance offers Photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy), also known as Photonic Stimulation Therapy, an amazing treatment device for head injuries, anxiety, depression, ADD, CFS and other neurologically derived conditions. Our range of PBM devices include a new full body light bed, smaller handheld devices for minor joint pain, and a helmet for head injury and mental health. In addition to this new technology, we are establishing a treatment protocol with Southern California Hospital in Culver City that will accommodate our traumatic brain injury (TBI) clients.

History of Photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy)

Light therapy has been used in Europe since the 1960’s. LED technology was developed by NASA. Though three times brighter than the sun, LED is safe and easy to use.

Low-level light therapy (LLLT) or Interactive Light Technology (ILT) is the application of light, usually LED, to promote tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, relieve pain and accelerate healing.  Unlike other medical procedures, (LLLT) is not an ablative or thermal mechanism. But rather a photochemical effect comparable to photosynthesis in plants whereby the light is absorbed and exerts a chemical change.

The photonic stimulator derives its name from utilizing diffuse or near infrared light (NIR) emission to trigger or stimulate a biological response. NIR penetrates deep into the tissue to reach nerve endings and endothelial linings of the capillaries.
Infrared light has a balancing effect on the autonomic nervous system.

The mechanism of action of photonic stimulation is related to its ability to excite electrons within the mitochondria of the cells in injured tissues. This technology may be the answer for problem wounds that are slow to heal.

This devise is FDA approved for medical use in this country. It had been used extensively in Sports Medicine Clinics, professional sports clubs and by the United States Olympic Teams for treatment of tissue injuries in its athletes.

Advantages

Fast healing, safe, emits pure non-ionizing light (unlike x-rays), fast treatments (5-20 minutes), economical, non-invasive, increased vascular activity, stimulates nerve function, works well alone or with other therapies, such as LENS.

Contraindications

Should not be used in treatment of eyes, during pregnancy, in cancer patients or those with a pacemaker.

*Disclaimer: NeuroBalance specializes exclusively in the use of LENS technology. LENS neurofeedback is a therapeutic modality only. It is NOT intended to be used to diagnose, treat or cure any specific disease or condition. LENS offers a safe, non-medicinal alternative approach for healing to occur. NeuroBalance assists the body to naturally manage the symptoms associated with many chronic conditions.
